Valter Nilsson - Högsbo Riviera

Facts Valter Nilsson is the artist who, within a few months, went from club gigs to selling out 12,000 tickets for his summer show at Bananpiren. Now the much-anticipated album "Högsbo Riviera" from the Gothenburg phenomenon is set for release on March 27. On it, he refines his soul rock 'n' roll, filled with everyday stories and social pathos.
With growing crowds across the country, a standout performance at Musikhjälpen last winter, and a win at the Nöjesguiden Göteborgspris, it is increasingly clear that the last word has not been said about Valter Nilsson. That view is reinforced by the new album "Högsbo Riviera," on which he and longtime collaborator Johan Weber refine their craft and expand the sound with significant use of brass and strings. Altogether, it is a rare kind of creation, full of both confidence and humility, triumphant yet a little painful.
