Carole King - Young King-The Brill Building Legend

Facts 180-Gram Vinyl Limited Edition. Carole King and Gerry Goffin were students at Queens College when they met in 1958. Over the next decade they fell in love, married, had two children, divorced and moved their writing sessions into and out of 1650 Broadway, in New York City, across the street from the Brill Building. The couple formed arguably the most significant songwriting partnership of the early 1960s (along with Barry Mann & Cynthia Weil, and Burt Bacharach & Hal David). Goffin and King composed a string of classic hits during the Sixties for a variety of artists. Their impeccably structured tunes covered an impressive range of styles (pop, soul, rhythm & blues, rock & roll...), and their songbook still sounds fresh 50-plus years later. This album puts together some of the best vocal sides recorded by Carole King herself in the late 1950s and early 1960s, including many of the hit songs she wrote in collaboration with Gerry Goffin. 20 TRACKS -180 GRAM VIRGIN VINYL - LIMITED EDITION
