Wakeman Alan - Octet Broadcasts 1969 And 1980

Facts Just as it is now, British jazz was experiencing a renaissance back when the Alan Wakeman Octet made these recordings for BBC radio. Recently unearthed and now available for the first time (CD or double vinyl), these recordings have been mastered directly from the original analog tapes. This highly flexible band moves from the atonal and conceptual to pastoral warmth, nods to traditional chorales and very English-sounding brass-band compositions as you hear "Dreams," "Forever," "Merry-Go-Round," "Chaturanga," "Vienna," "Manhattan Variation" and more!
