Nära Döden - Villkorslöst

Facts Nära Döden's second album "Villkorslöst" is released March 7, 2025, following up on the acclaimed debut "Slänger ingenting" from 2023.

While working on the new album, late-1970s postpunk and Swedish 2000s punk and indie were constant sources of inspiration. Music that uses strong emotions to convey something personal, with expressions that are often unconditional.

The whole second album, Villkorslöst, is likewise. It is an album about change, mistakes and finding your place in life. About feeling defeated and still giving. Feeling hopelessness yet daring to hope. Being unconditional.

Musically, the album reflects how Nära Döden sounds when they play together in a room. Most of the album was recorded live under simple conditions, giving it a raw, naked feel, while Nära Döden shows development from the debut album, both in the songs and the production. Guitars roar behind the emotionally charged melodies, harmonies and lyrics, carried by Hanna Winberg's vulnerable voice, which often sits close to the breaking point. Throughout the album, Nära Döden shows musical range and a willingness to push the boundaries of what indie can be today, balancing the raw sound with a carefully constructed arrangement.
