Morton Jelly Roll - Jelly Roll Blues

Facts Alongside Louis Armstrong, Jelly Roll Morton was the most important exponent of New Orleans jazz. Unlike Armstrong, Morton's piano stylings and small group recordings enjoyed little commercial success until many of his tunes were adopted by the Big Bands of the late Thirties. This selection of piano rolls and small group recordings feature such Dixieland giants as Johnny Dodds, Barney Bigard and Sidney Bechet. Tracks include; "Black Bottom Stomp", "The Pearls", "Tank Town Bump", "Ballin' The Jack", "West End Blues".
