Midnight Cowboy

Facts A slightly unhinged Texan, played by Voight, comes to New York to offer himself to wealthy older women. He spends most of the cold winter, however, helping a tuberculosis-stricken small-time hustler (Hoffman). The worst sides of Manhattan form the backdrop to their growing friendship. Deservedly, it won the Oscar for Best Picture, Best Screenplay and Best Director.
