GAZELL RECORDS
Gazell Records is probably the oldest still fully independent Swedish record label that continues to actively produce new releases, with a strong profile in jazz and blues. The company was founded in Stockholm in 1949 by John Engelbrekt and was taken over in 1957 by Dag Häggqvist, who later also helped build Sonet Records. Since 1993 Gazell has once again operated as an independent label, and today the company is run by Dag Häggqvist’s son Carl.
