Grey Tony - Elevation

Facts Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Hiromi, John McLaughlin, Branford Marsalis, Zakir Hussain, Mike Stern, Gary Husband, Simon Philips, Wayne Krantz and Steve Lukather may be among the greatest musicians ever known, but they all hold something else in common. At one time or another, these legendary artists have counted on the support of Tony Grey's melodic and propulsive bass. Artists of such stature, virtuosity and standards do not trust just anybody to hold down the foundations of their music. They seek out the best for live performances and recordings. Time and time again these artists turn to Tony Grey. Elevation marks the return of bassist and composer Tony Grey to the Abstract Logix Label after his sophomore release - Chasing Shadows. Brilliantly crafted, this very musical outing features a new and never released composition from John McLaughlin, originally written for his friend Chick Corea. Chick's Chums is a great funky tune featuring McLaughlin himself on the guitar, along with percussionist Mino Cinelu. Performing on various tracks of this spectacular album include acclaimed guitarists David Fiuczynski, Mike Stern, Reb Beach, Fabrizio Sotti, Nir Felder, and Tomoyasu Hotei.
