Gary Smulyan & Dominic Chianese - Bella Napoli

Facts Award winning baritone saxophonist Gary Smulyan teams up with Dominic Chinese (who played Uncle Junior on the popular HBO series the Sopranos and Johnny Ola in Godfather II) for a delightful excursion through Neapolitan melodies. The songs on this recording are all drawn from the tradition of Canzone Napoletana from the Naples region during the late 19th and early 20th century. Dominic has a beautiful singing voice and is featured on half the tracks. The group backing Smulyan and Chinese include Gary Versace on piano and accordion, Joseph Brent on mandolin and violin, Martin Wind on bass and Matt Wilson on drums.
