e.g.baroque - Liebesgesange (CD)

Facts David Pohle created his Twelve Love Songs in the early 17th century and with them decisively advanced the still young genre of German-language song. The settings of the 26-year-old Pohle are valuable testimonies to the development of the German-language song genre. The poems by Paul Fleming on which they are based have autobiographical features; which David Pohle reflects in the composition by using two equal singing voices. The composition and text tell of love; loss and pain; of happiness; determination and renunciation in a variety of ways. Audite presents this first recording with a top-class cast.
