Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach - Hamburger Sinfonien

Facts The symphonies of Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach represent the 'Empfindsam Style' at it's very best, seeking to express profound feelings in music, by such means as unexpected harmonies, chromatics, quick changes of dynamics and the sharp contrasting of melodic and virtuosic instrumental writing. Ostrobothnian Chamber Orchestra, so expertly conducted by Sakari Oramo, superbly performs these delightful six String Symphonies. 'Seldom has a musical composition of higher, bolder and wittier character flowed from the soul of a genius.' (Allgemeine Musikalische Zeitung, 1814).
