They are best known for the work they supplied to producer Phil Spector's stable of artists, represented here by unforgettable tracks by the Crystals and Ronettes, and for Leiber & Stoller's Red Bird label, including classics by the Shangri-Las, Dixie Cups, Jelly Beans and Butterflys. In addition to their joint compositions, our collection features earlier songs penned by Ellie Greenwich for Darlene Love, Jay and the Americans, Bob B Soxx and the Blue Jeans, the Exciters and others, plus later numbers written by Jeff Barry for artists such as Reparata and the Delrons, Freddie Scott and the Strangeloves.
