Various - Alley-Oop

Facts EU-only collection of records which provided the only U.S. chart entry for it's respective performer. This volume concentrates on the US Top 100, between the years 1955-62 and features an eclectic mix of artists and musical genres, from Doo Wop to R&B, from Rock 'n' Roll to novelty songs, from death discs to embryonic Soul. Includes million-selling, #1 records like the Elegants' 'Little Star', and the Hollywood Argyles' ultra-cool title track, to barely-remembered, semi-novelty items like Billy Graves' 'The Shag (Is Totally Cool)', Lonnie Russ's 'My Wife Can't Cook' and Rex Allen's preposterous 'Don't Go Near the Indians'. Also features much-loved Doo Wop classics like the Penguins' irresistible 'Earth Angel' (often described as America's favorite radio Oldie), Johnnie & Joe's lilting 'Over the Mountain, Across the Sea' and the Edsels' irrepressible 'Rama Lama Ding Dong', amid a myriad of others.
