Beat Poet Society - Ricochet Of A Virus (Gatefold / Gold Coloured Vinyl)

Facts With a blend of atmospheric soundscapes, hypnotic beats and sharp poetry, Beat Poet Society creates a unique atmosphere where words and music merge. The album Ricochet of a Virus, released as a limited gold-colored gatefold edition on vinyl, is a reflection of our time: an echoing soundtrack to a world in constant change and a journey through urban chaos, quiet rooms and the dull echoes of a global crisis. The lyrics swing between the deeply personal and the socially critical, with each track a reflection on the present day. Musically, the album carries some associations with early Fleetwood Mac, where vocals, atmosphere and feeling share a kinship in their expression.

"This album is a mirror of the turbulence of recent years, a reflection of isolation, resistance and rebuilding. We wanted to capture the feeling of words and rhythms being thrown back and forth, just as we have been through this era," says singer Anna-Bella Munter.

Beat Poet Society was born from a creative spark between poetry and music. In 2015, Swedish poet Bengt O Björklund took part in a mini festival organized by singer Anna-Bella Munter in Stockholm. Guitarist Mats Wennberg was also there, and the idea of creating music based on Bengt's texts was born. The band formed at the outbreak of the pandemic in 2020, and recording of the album's music began in 2021.
