Axe - Axe (Collectors Edition)

Facts Special Deluxe Collector's Edition. Remastered. 16-page full-color booklet, improved artwork with interviews. In the late '70s, melodic hard rock was flourishing with bands like Foreigner, Journey, and Styx. Axe was no exception, one of many acts that wanted to emulate the commercial path. Bandleader Bobby Barth took control of the vision and ambition. But by this time the band had already recorded an album, Babyface, for the independent Chicago label ASI, but it was eventually left behind when MCA took notice. Axe is a melodic rival to the big acts and should appeal to fans of April Wine, Foreigner, Demon, Blue Oyster Cult, and Uriah Heep.
