Abigor - Verwüstung / Invoke The Dark Age (B

Facts Debut full-length album from Austrian black metal band Abigor, Verwüstung / Invoke the Dark Age is a raw and chaotic entry into the early '90s European black metal scene. The album blends ferocious tremolo-picked riffs, relentless blast beats, and dark, ritualistic atmospheres, firmly rooted in the second wave sound but already hinting at the band's more experimental tendencies. The production is intentionally harsh and unpolished, emphasizing intensity over clarity and giving the record an oppressive, underground feel. Despite this rawness, the album features complex song structures and shifting tempos, showcasing a level of ambition beyond many contemporaries at the time.
