Meierkord / Andersson - Passager (Ruby Red Vinyl LP)

Cellist Henrik Meierkord and artist Pelle Andersson have previously released music under their own names and have also performed as musicians for artists such as Ossler, Thåström, and Kjellvander. In 2024, they came together to create a joint project.

The foundation of this newly formed musical collaboration, however, stemmed from a tragic period in life – the terminal cancer diagnosis of Pelle Andersson’s wife. The project was named "Passager", where grand piano, synthesizers, and cello form a soundscape marked by reflection and sorrow, yet with moments where light is allowed to break through. This resulted in the album "Passager", now released as a limited edition on red vinyl.

– The new record is a kind of navigation through various emotional states. Passages between hope and warmth, despair and panic. Where light meets darkness, beauty meets imperfection, say Pelle and Henrik.

The recording was constantly influenced by the illness that affected Andersson’s wife at the time. When the album was completed, she sadly passed away – and "Passager" is dedicated to her.
